I wanted to shamelessly plug my local Anime convention, Anime Punch! "The Armageddicon" I'm from the Central Ohio area (Columbus, OH) and every year and it's always a blast! They just announced their dates for this year, so I thought I would spread the word around! Their website is at animepunch.org The dates are April 22-24 2011. They have a lot of great events like "Distraction", a post modern Evangelion puppet show, a rave, and I think their musical guest this year is going to be The Protomen. If you like anime, manga, video games, or should probably check it out, it's pretty sweet. One thing to note is that it's very college aged, and has a lot of academic stuff as well as party stuff. It's also not just a bunch of fans of Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, or Bleach, they have a lot of eclectic stuff like old Gainax, Gundam, and all sorts of unique and cool things.
Incidentally, most of the staff are big Bluejackets fans.
